DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, announced the nominees for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year Award for 2023.

Suryakumar Yadav, who won the prestigious award in 2022, has been nominated this year too following his sublime record in T20Is while Zimbabwe’s Sikander Raza, New Zealand’s Mark Chapman and Uganda’s Alpesh Ramjani are the other three nominees.

Yadav accumulated 733 runs at an average of 48.86 in 17 innings with a hefty strike rate of 155.95.

The right-handed batter kept piling runs to his name with consistent scores ranging from 20 to 40 before an innings of 83 (44) against the West Indies in Providence, followed by a 61-run knock in Florida.

Suryakumar scored half-centuries against Australia and South Africa and ended his prolific year in T20I cricket with a hundred against South Africa off just 56 balls.
