LAHORE: The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) on Wednesday announced Quetta as the host of the upcoming 34th National Games, scheduled to take place from May 15 to 23.
According to the notification issued by the POA, a copy of which is available with ARY News, this year’s National Games will feature 31 games with over 30,000 athletes anticipated to participate.
“It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that following sports disciplines have been finalized for the contest of the 34th Chapter of National Games scheduled to be held from 15 – 23 May 2023 in Quetta,” stated POA in the official notification.
“The events of individual sports disciplines are being circulated separately. Provincial Olympic Associations / Islamabad Olympic Association / Services / Departments and National Sports Federations concerned are requested to take appropriate action for preparation, participation and conduct of the games in a befitting manner,” the notification added.
Meanwhile, the upcoming National Games will also include competitions of three exhibition games which include Women’s Cricket, Futsal and Tug of War.
It is pertinent to mention that the National Games are to be held after a gap of more than three years. Pakistan Army dominated the previous edition with a whopping 123 gold, 99 silver and 65 bronze medals.
